ESL Batcher Pasteurizer - Nights

About the role

The Pasteurizer/Batcher position involves preparing and pasteurizing products according to recipes, ensuring compliance with customer, state, and federal guidelines. Essential duties include measuring and mixing ingredients, executing the pasteurizing process, operating equipment, and maintaining cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Measure and mix ingredients to meet recipe guidelines
• Take inventory and record lot numbers of ingredients used
• Expertly execute the pasteurizing process including homogenization
• Prepare pasteurized/raw tanks/set line circuits/CIP jumpers
• Operate pasteurizing systems sending product to correct tanks or tankers
• Run tests for butterfat and total solids
• Set up tanks and line circuits for CIP, test chemicals and adjust as needed
• Reassemble items so they are ready for use
• Keep all support equipment clean to meet state and federal guidelines
• Perform basic maintenance and replace parts on the equipment as necessary
• Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs
• Follow Quality Assurance standards and collect required samples for testing
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required information
• Follow all required work safe practices

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 6+ months in manufacturing, dairy, or another related field preferred
• Forklift certified or willing to become certified
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to communicate when necessary to complete duties
• Ability to work in cold and wet environments for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to work in various temperature-controlled zones ranging from cold to hot
• Demonstrates a mechanical aptitude and can work and maneuver in tight and awkward areas and positions
• Must be able to operate equipment at recommended speeds and communicate mechanical and operational defects as they arise
• Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Regular and reliable attendance required

Pay

$21/hour base pay, plus $2.00/hour shift differential for night shifts.

Regular and reliable attendance is required. The position may involve evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
