About the Role
As an Escrow Officer, you will work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting focused on customer service and closing real estate transactions. This role requires exceptional decision-making skills, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task as part of a team. You will play a key role in making the dream of homeownership a reality by handling escrow transactions, managing funds, processing documents, and completing settlements in accordance with established policies and procedures.
This is an in-office position located at 4362 Cascade Road SE, Ste 109, Grand Rapids, MI.
Responsibilities
- Complete real estate escrow transactions by determining requirements.
- Act as a neutral liaison between file parties, adhere to company policy, and monitor and mitigate risk to the company.
- Ensure all funds are properly accounted for and disbursed in accordance with the terms of the contract and company policy.
- Prepare regular reports on the status of the escrow account and provide these reports to the parties involved in the transaction.
- Examine property titles, mortgages, and trust deed documents.
- Prepare legal documents for the closure of the sale.
- Complete closing by recording and filing documents, preparing, and distributing final closing statements and title.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of escrow-related experience.
- Experience directly handling escrow transactions.
- Openness to new technology and proprietary programs; adjusts easily to new workflows.
- Passion for helping customers while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with both internal teams and external customers.
- Strong problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to navigate internal and external resources to resolve issues.
- Thrives in contributing to a team working together to deliver beyond customer expectations.
- Comfortable guiding and supporting future talent learning the business.
- Knowledge of MS Office suite and ability to quickly adapt to new software applications and technologies.
- Valid licensing/certification as required by applicable state.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Pay
Pay Range: $24.42 - $32.56 hourly. This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
