Escambia County Alabama Transit System Director

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the Escambia County Alabama Transit System (ECATS), currently consisting of 11 buses.
• Oversee the scheduling of routes and employees.
• Monitor the quality of transportation services provided to riders.
• Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations established by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT).
• Ensure that all required records, reports, and documentation are completed accurately and submitted to appropriate oversight agencies in a correct and timely manner.
• Maintain organized records in accordance with applicable federal, state, and county requirements.
• Maintain regular contact and positive working relationships with representatives of existing contract clients.
• Develop and pursue new contract opportunities to expand transportation services and funding.
• Attend meetings, conferences, and other events concerning transportation-related matters.
• Represent ECATS before community organizations and other appropriate agencies or groups.
• Actively identify and pursue funding sources to supplement federal grant resources.
• Assist with the development, preparation, and administration of applicable grant and funding opportunities.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the County Administrator.
• Be willing to work overtime to complete work within specified period of time.
• Be willing to travel to attend training or to other County Functions required by supervisor.

Requirements

• Associates Degree or higher (preferred).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
