Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, diagnose, repair, and start-up HVAC systems, utilizing knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, air distribution, controls, and mechanical layouts.
  • Plan, analyze, and ensure timely completion of assigned projects and activities.
  • Use a variety of hand tools and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to mount, hang, fit, and install equipment and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes.
  • Perform site surveys, replacements, modifications, and start-ups as needed or requested by customers.
  • Prepare for on-site installation by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work with other trades.
  • Maintain assigned stock of inventory, company equipment, and document all related activities.
  • Record parts, material, labor, and other cost data per assignment and return unused resources.
  • Provide training and follow-up training at customer sites.
  • Provide sales leads to appropriate personnel.
  • Document work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; maintain files.
  • Turn in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support to customers on assigned projects.
  • Serve as the direct customer contact, responsible for servicing products and equipment, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at the customer’s location.
  • Keep current on Trane products concerning installation of direct digital control systems.
  • Inspect vehicles by checking vehicle condition and literature supplies.
  • Maintain vehicles by keeping records of service manuals, scheduling, and completing repairs and maintenance service.
  • Maintain tools and equipment by inspecting for signs of wear.
  • Enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions.
  • Travel regularly with occasional overnight stays.
  • Maintain flexibility to work overtime and weekends as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required; typically at least 2-5 years of experience in Commercial HVAC Installation.
  • Technical School or formal training is preferred.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., Smartphone, iPad).
  • State Contractor Licenses Preferred (e.g., HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer).
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.

Pay

Hourly Base Pay Range: $26.64 - $35.90

This is a non-commissioned, non-incentive eligible, hourly role. Compensation may vary based on factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
