This position is responsible for providing the full range of management and supervision required for the successful performance and completion of projects.
Schedule
Day shift: 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (12-hour shifts; may include nights, weekends, and holidays).

Responsibilities
- Directly supervise staff and daily operations
- Provide positive leadership, monitor and track employee attendance and performance, and complete disciplinary actions when required
- Enforce all company safety policies and procedures
- Identify and develop key talent and manage underperformers to ensure departmental success
- Communicate company goals and objectives to employees
- Manage workload within operations and make operational adjustments as needed
- Review and approve Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for call center staff
- Complete regulatory reporting on shift
- Provide day-to-day environmental support to open projects to ensure compliance with environmental policies, requirements, and procedures
- Serve as a technical supervisor on matters relating to environmental spills
- Oversee projects assigned to project specialists, including all phases of spill response, working directly with clients to ensure timely, successful cleanup, regulatory compliance, client satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness
- Accountable for project managers working within project’s detailed scope-of-work to maintain strict compliance with contract documents, project schedules, and corporate policies and procedures
- Oversee contractors in the field to determine sources and methods of controlling pollutants in air, water, and soil
- Accurately log information from client interactions into ALERT systems and update in a timely manner
- Dispatch contractors for excavation, transportation, and disposal of products
- Provide employee training and development
- Maintain excellent customer service and satisfaction
- Perform QA/QC on all ongoing projects
- Ensure all SOPs and client special instructions are performed and compliant
- Communicate effectively with contractors, clients, regulatory officials, and others through both written and verbal communication
- Return all internal and external calls, emails, and facsimiles in a timely manner to address and resolve customer concerns
- Maintain professional competency in all aspects of the job
- May serve on the emergency operations center, as assigned
- Perform other job-related duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field: Environmental Science, Chemistry, Waste Management, Health, Safety, Emergency Management, or similar major; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
- Minimum 4 years of previous management or supervisory experience in the transportation, logistics, or waste industry
- Direct hazardous material response experience is required
- Conceptual and practical knowledge of groundwater and soil sampling
- Working knowledge of OSHA, RCRA, and DOT regulations, or ability to develop this knowledge
- Strong time management skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects
- Must be a team player and work to accomplish common departmental goals
- Excellent data entry, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle a high call volume in a fast-paced environment dealing with emergency response calls
- Capable of remaining calm and confident during stressful situations
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Able to effectively communicate with clients, employees, and outside professionals
- Able to orchestrate large volumes of data while meeting critical deadlines
- Must exemplify professionalism in personal appearance and demeanor
The posted salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this role. Final compensation may vary based on factors such as location, experience, skills, and business needs. In addition to the base salary, some roles may be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
