About the role
We are looking for an ERP/CRM Developer to join a Financial Services organization in Brookfield, Wisconsin on a Long-term Contract basis. This role is suited for a developer who can support established enterprise applications, improve system performance, and contribute to complex data movement efforts tied to modernization goals. The position offers the chance to work in a regulated setting where reliability, accuracy, and collaboration are essential to day-to-day success.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance core ERP/CRM-related applications operating in an IBM i / AS400 environment to support ongoing business operations.
- Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement effective fixes across functions such as claims, underwriting, billing, and financial processing.
- Prepare, map, and transform legacy data for migration into newer platforms while helping preserve completeness and accuracy.
- Assist teams managing side-by-side processing between legacy systems and newer solutions to reduce disruption during implementation activities.
- Work closely with business partners and technical stakeholders to validate system behavior, resolve data concerns, and support dependable application performance.
- Create clear technical documentation, including development notes, process details, and knowledge-sharing materials for internal teams.
- Improve the stability and efficiency of existing applications as newer platforms are introduced and operational demands continue.
- Contribute to configuration management and development support activities to promote controlled releases and consistent system changes.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of development experience in IBM i / AS400 environments, including strong hands-on work with RPG or RPG/400.
- Solid understanding of IBM i architecture and experience supporting enterprise applications in a production setting.
- Proven background in data migration, data conversion, or legacy application modernization initiatives.
- Ability to evaluate complex legacy code, interpret business logic, and work through structured troubleshooting efforts.
- Experience collaborating with business users, technical teams, and project stakeholders to gather and address requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical processes clearly.
- Familiarity with configuration management practices and disciplined development processes.
- Industry experience in insurance or exposure to Guidewire-related projects is preferred.
