ER Tech - Emergency Department - Reduced Part-time

Job Functions

• Performs direct and indirect patient care promptly and courteously as directed by registered nurse and/or physician to facilitate patient flow through the Emergency Department.
• Maintains patient records and charts to ensure an accurate record of the patient's medical treatment.
• Makeshifts and restocks supplies and equipment as needed for each shift.
• P Practices appropriate safety, environmental, and infection control procedures.
• Assists nursing staff with ensuring the safety of psychiatric patients in the Emergency Department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Specific Experience Requirements

Previous job experience preferred.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Crisis Prevention Training within six months.

SPECIAL SKILL, LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• HIPAA Requirements: Previous healthcare experience preferred but not required. Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Medical records without limitation both paper and electronic, patient demographics, lab and radiology results, patient information related to surgery or appointment schedules, medical records related to quality/data, patient financial information, patient billing 3rd party, patients related complaints, information related to patient location, patient's religious beliefs, research information and/or public health records.
• Safety Requirements: Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Incident reporting, handling of wastes, sharps and linen, PPE, exposure control plans, hand washing, environment of care, patient identification, transporting patients, transporting medications and blood, and monitoring clinical alarms.
