About the role
Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech). As an ED Tech, you will assist the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency and minor emergency care patients. You will perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision and serve as an integral part of the Emergency Department team.
Responsibilities
- Starting IVs
- Performing EKGs
- Conducting Point of Care testing
- Drawing blood cultures
- Monitoring vital signs
- Prioritizing patient arrivals
- Stocking supplies
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR
- Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School (qualified MMAC candidates) OR
- Current student enrolled in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester
