ED Tech | Emergency Department | Part-time | Days

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents direct routine patient care under licensed provider's supervision
• Serves all age groups

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED or Vocational Training
• Current Florida EMT license -OR- current Florida Paramedic license
• BLS from the American Heart Association
• Less than 1 year of practical clinical experience

Preferred Experience

• 1 or more years previous experience in a health care environment

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques
• Knowledge of acute and chronic disease processes
• Knowledge of standard universal precautions
• Basic knowledge of anatomic structure and human body systems
• Ability to recognize obvious job-related emergencies
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Read and write in English
• Recognition of lethal EKG rhythms
• Performance of electrocardiograms
• IV insertion
• Urinary catheter insertion
• Gastric tube insertion
• Phlebotomy
• Basic wound care
• Splinting of musculoskeletal injuries
• Automatic External Defibrillator operation
• Chest compressions
• Eye irrigation
