Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech), Part-Time, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

About the role

Facilitates timely and effective patient care under the supervision of licensed members of the healthcare team. Maintains a safe and clean environment to enhance department operations.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care consistent with the model and philosophy of relationship-based care.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment to enhance department operations.
• Works using aseptic techniques.
• Upon hire, completes 12-lead EKG competency every 2 years.
• Provides minimal EKG knowledge and sets up/runs 12-lead EKG (hospital to train).
• Must have current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification.
• Completes non-violent crisis intervention training annually.
• Preferred: California state licensed EMT or CNA, acute general hospital experience as an ED Tech, CNA, or nursing student, basic Windows and mouse skills.

Requirements

Minimal EKG knowledge. Must be able to set-up and run 12-lead EKG (hospital to train).

Qualifications

California state licensed EMT or CNA preferred.

Skills

Written and verbal English communication skills, basic organizational skills, knowledge of medical terminology, knowledge of infection control, ability to work using aseptic techniques, current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification, non-violent crisis intervention training annually, basic Windows and mouse skills.
