ER RN Coord Flow
As an ER RN Coordinator for Flow, your voice influences patient care through open, collaborative relationships with your manager and formal opportunities via hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You’ll help shape decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing.
About the role
Every patient deserves attentive, timely, and well-coordinated care. As the RN Coordinator for ED Flow/Throughput, you will ensure patients move through the Emergency Department with clarity, clinical support, and thoughtful coordination. By aligning staffing, patient placement, and clinical resources, you’ll help teams deliver organized, safe, and patient-centered care. In moments of urgency and complexity, your leadership will keep caregivers connected, supported, and focused on their mission to care for and improve human life.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient placement, triage processes, EMS handoffs, and inpatient transfers
- Align staffing plans with patient volume, acuity, and department needs
- Monitor delays in care transitions and collaborate on solutions
- Support safety priorities, experience initiatives, and quality outcomes
- Partner with physicians, nurses, and care teams to remove barriers
- Provide clinical guidance, escalation support, and patient care when needed
Requirements
- 2+ years of ER experience (required)
- Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
- Associate Degree (required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date)
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date)
