ER Registrar

Role: The ER Registrar handles patient intake and registration in the Emergency Department, ensuring accurate documentation, insurance verification, and confidentiality. Responsibilities: Greet patients with compassion, collect and verify personal, insurance, and medical details, obtain signatures and consents, verify insurance coverage, and collect co-pays. Notify staff of patient arrivals, support efficient department operations, and communicate during emergencies. Maintain patient identification with armbands and ensure smooth documentation for billing and records. Qualifications & Skills: Post-secondary education in healthcare administration preferred; 0-2 years in healthcare or customer service. Strong communication, customer service, and attention to detail skills required. Familiarity with EHR systems, insurance processes, and medical terminology. Ability to handle sensitive information professionally and remain calm in high-pressure situations.
