About the role
This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Room within a small-format hospital setting. The nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, ensuring safety, comfort, and confidentiality. The role emphasizes teamwork, diversity, and a patient-centered approach to care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver age-specific and specialty-appropriate nursing care using advanced clinical knowledge
- Accurately document patient information and observations
- Monitor and record physiological signs, symptoms, and behaviors
- Follow physician orders and adhere to infection control and aseptic techniques
- Perform laboratory sampling, testing, and diagnostic procedures
- Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Assist with procedures, assemble equipment, and ensure compliance with legal and institutional standards
- Participate in quality assessment activities and team meetings
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree required; BSN preferred
- Current RN license without sanctions
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience in ER or comparable setting
- Valid BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association; ENPC or TNCC preferred
- Proficiency in English communication skills
- For Pennsylvania candidates: required background checks (Child Abuse, FBI fingerprint) completed within last 5 years
