About the role

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an Equity, Inclusion, Diversity and Linguistics Consultant I to support initiatives that promote health equity, cultural responsiveness, and language access across diverse patient populations. This role helps improve patient care by enhancing clinical communication, supporting regulatory compliance, and contributing to language access programs. Working with cross-functional stakeholders and senior consultants, the incumbent will assist with project planning, research, analysis, presentations, and implementation of strategic initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Track, organize, and/or monitor equity, inclusion, and diversity (EID) initiatives in the workforce, care delivery, and community in alignment with an organization-wide strategy under manager guidance.
  • Assist in EID-related consultations and engagement plans within work groups/teams/committees.
  • Organize activities and address commonly asked inquiries that are low risk/low complexity/operational in nature (e.g., tools, resources/assets).
  • Support the creation of communication plans by completing assigned tasks within the plan led by the manager/supervisor/team lead.
  • Use basic knowledge of EID-related policies, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Assist in the development of requirements for business, process, or system solutions by working with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Leverage business requirements gathering methodologies to identify business, functional, and non-functional requirements and assist in developing and documenting business cases to assess costs, benefits, and ROI of proposed solutions.
  • Support strategic planning and organizational alignment and prioritization of business initiatives by assisting in evaluating performance metrics, standards, and methods to establish business success.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders under senior guidance to ensure cohesive and reachable metrics and execute assigned initiatives to ensure delivery of measurable results aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Support compliance of work activities by adhering to KP, departmental, and/or business line policies and procedures.
  • Provide consulting support under senior guidance to ensure alignment, buy-in, and coordination of diverse stakeholders to drive implementation of successful business initiatives and projects within a functional track or workstream.
  • Build rapport and partnerships with stakeholder teams, third-party vendors, and senior management; coordinate work efforts to develop goals and set prioritization of deliverables; prepare presentations and reports as appropriate.
  • Serve as an advocate of continuous learning and professional development by building knowledge of industry practices, standards, and benchmarks; attending and participating in roadshows, conferences, and speaking events; supporting ongoing enhancement and innovation of business consulting practices, standards, and methods.
  • Perform data analyses to support business initiatives under senior guidance using appropriate tools and approaches to assess business performance; leverage suitable data gathering and analysis methods; conduct analyses and perform experimental tests to evaluate effectiveness of business solutions.
  • Assist in the management of project components under team guidance by coordinating stakeholder contacts; recommending team resources based on project needs and strengths; coordinating project schedules and resource forecasts; proactively monitoring and identifying project or business initiative risks, issues, and trigger events; resolving or escalating risks or issues as appropriate.
  • Support the development and implementation of business initiatives, systems, and/or processes to a desired future state by mapping current state against future state processes and identifying operational impact of requirements on upstream and downstream solution components.
  • Pursue effective relationships by sharing information with coworkers and members; listen to and address performance feedback; pursue self-development; adapt to and learn from change, challenges, and feedback; respond to the needs of others to support a business outcome.
  • Complete routine work assignments by following procedures and policies and using data and resources with oversight and management.
  • Collaborate with others to address business problems; escalate issues or risks as appropriate; communicate progress and information; adhere to established priorities, deadlines, and expectations; identify and speak up for improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in diversity management/consultation or active participation in workplace diversity and inclusion efforts (includes internship, Employee Resource Group [ERG], and community experience).
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in facilitating presentations or training.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working with diversity and inclusion concepts and programs.
  • At least 60 credits toward a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR minimum one (1) year of experience in consulting, project management, data analytics, operations, or a directly related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of data analytics experience.
  • One (1) year of experience working with Excel functions including formulas and pivot tables.

Work location is on-site with flexibility to work remotely; the primary location will be in-office for meetings, per Kaiser Permanente’s Authorized States Policy.
