Equities Applied Trading Technology Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of innovative software solutions that enhance business operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new applications and systems.
• Provide strategic direction and solve complex technical problems related to financial control and budget management.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and methodologies in software engineering and apply them to improve processes.
• Work closely with other stakeholders in the business to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Engage directly with other stakeholders in the business, including those involved in cash equities trading, to gather insights and feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
• Advanced knowledge of architecture, design, and business processes.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, specifically using pandas and numpy.
• Experience with Q/KDB.
• Strong understanding of financial control and budget management.
• Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills.
• Experience in high-touch or algorithmic trading, including market impact modeling, venue analysis, algo selection, microstructure, or central risk books.
• Effective communication skills, particularly when describing problems and explaining solutions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strong mathematical/technological background.
• Disciplined approach to code management, testing, and deployment practices.
• High-quality delivery of projects.
• Passion for data-driven decision-making and a willingness to spread a culture of change.
