Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Independently isolate, diagnose, and resolve highly complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automated equipment malfunctions under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Act as a "Safety Ambassador" for the floor team, conducting safety audits on maintenance activities, adhering strictly to LOTO guidelines, and ensuring all repairs follow strict company policies.
- Maneuver and navigate complex Control Systems to efficiently isolate faults, clear errors, track equipment performance data, and eliminate hidden operational bottlenecks.
- Lead equipment technicians in the creation, execution, and training of advanced predictive and preventative maintenance (PM) workflows to prolong machinery longevity.
- Effectively train, develop, and mentor junior technicians and production operators on advanced troubleshooting methods, safe tool usage, and precision repairs.
- Apply cross-functional technical skills to support plant utility infrastructure during escalations (including air compressors, chillers, vacuum pumps, electrical distribution systems, and HVAC) and systematically assist in power recovery protocols.
- Oversee external contractor activities to ensure safe work practices and adherence to project scopes; coordinate approved engineering line changes, retrofits, and 8020 cart fabrications.
- Support the deployment and optimization of new production machinery, using hoists, jacks, squares, micrometers, and plumb bobs to guarantee precise alignment.
- Generate, maintain, and analyze equipment downtime and maintenance data in a CMMS platform and MS Excel to deliver actionable daily reporting to department leadership.
- Conduct advanced component rebuilding, circuit troubleshooting, and basic metal/wood fabrication (including welding and milling where required) to quickly restore machinery to optimal operating status.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree or higher in Mechatronics, Electronics, Automation, Engineering Technology, or equivalent industrial/military experience.
- Experience: 4+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a fast-paced environment (Photovoltaics/Solar, Semiconductor, or Automotive production fields highly preferred).
- Technical Skills: Advanced troubleshooting proficiency across high and low voltage electrical systems, motor control panels, robotics floors, live drives, and complex conveyor networks. Strong working knowledge of pneumatic logic and hydraulics.
- Tool & Equipment Operation: Proficient in the safe operation of articulating aerial lifts, shop diagnostic gear, metal/wood fabrication machinery (welding/milling), and precision hand tools.
- Systems & Software: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel for data reporting) and proven experience logging and tracking technical assets within a CMMS platform.
