About the role

As an Equipment Technician I, you'll support Deli equipment across various departments including Bakery, Produce, Meat, and Deli, ensuring efficient operations and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and equipment assessments
  • Coordinate parts deliveries and pickups
  • Conduct store walk-through inspections
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to manage equipment repairs
  • Evaluate, schedule, and complete Preventative Maintenance (PM) work orders
  • Visit stores on a scheduled basis
  • Assess equipment to prevent production time loss
  • Communicate with the warehouse team for deliveries or pickups of new or used equipment
  • Support and train with the Equipment Technician II to prepare for future opportunities
  • Provide support during new and remodel store activities
  • Perform housekeeping tasks including vehicle inventory and cleaning, credit card statements, and other paperwork
  • Be available on call 24/7 for emergencies

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least one (1) year of experience in using basic mechanical/electrical skills, including diagnosing, light troubleshooting, and minor repairs
  • Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
  • At least 20 years old
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Flexible working hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel)
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
  • Basic knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems (SAP)
  • Time management skills
  • Knowledge of electrical principles
  • Knowledge of food safety
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
  • Intermediate knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems (SAP)

Qualifications

  • Degree in electrical motor control repairs from an Industrial Mechanical Trade school (preferred)
  • Two (2) years’ experience with mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and diagnosis
  • Knowledge of construction drawings and Bakery, Deli, and Meat production equipment specifications
  • Knowledge of trades including electrical, plumbing, brazing, mechanical, and gas

Skills

  • Basic knowledge of electrical principles
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Willingness to travel to stores throughout the retail division, including nights, weekends, and overnight stays
  • Willingness to be available on call 24/7 for emergencies
