About the role
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) seeks a full-time Equipment Specialist (Electronic) (GG-1670-11) at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The position is a DCIPS position under Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25-V2007. Depending on the type of position, a 1-year probationary or 2-year trial period may be required.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and establish logistics and maintenance support services for life-cycle sustainment of electronic and information technology (EIT) systems and equipment.
- Support multiple branches, programs, activities, and diverse mission disciplines within the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division.
- Develop and conduct training to ensure proper maintenance of assigned EIT systems and/or equipment.
- Offer technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and maintenance technicians.
- Identify and analyze complex technical problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data.
- Plan, reorganize, and reprioritize work to meet changing deadlines.
- Work cooperatively as a member of a team and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must obtain and maintain a "Top Secret/SCI" Security clearance.
- At a minimum, requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience for entry.
- Knowledge of maintenance concepts, principles, and practices of EIT systems and/or equipment.
- Knowledge of security practices for safeguarding classified information.
- Knowledge of logistics support standard and non-standard systems.
- Ability to provide technical advice in oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations.
- Ability to develop and conduct training for proper maintenance of assigned EIT systems and/or equipment.
- Desired experience in Signal Intelligence, Force Protection Programs & System, Engineering Drawings & Schematics, Technical Orders and Manuals, Writing and Reviewing, Validation and Verification, and Provisioning.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Eligible for a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 in the Federal service or comparable experience.
- Experience in providing technical support and establishing logistics and maintenance support services for life-cycle sustainment of electronic and information technology (EIT) systems and equipment.
- Experience in developing and conducting training for proper maintenance of assigned EIT systems and/or equipment.
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data.
- Experience in planning, reorganizing, and reprioritizing work to meet changing deadlines.
- Experience in offering technical advice in oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and maintenance technicians.
- Experience in identifying and analyzing complex technical problems and developing innovative solutions.
- Experience in working cooperatively as a member of a team and maintaining effective interpersonal relationships.
