Equipment Service Technician - COLUMBIA
Days/Hours of Work: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
About the role
The Equipment Service Technician performs mechanical services on all cold-drink equipment, troubleshoots issues in the field, and delivers preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment in the field to keep it in proper operating condition.
- Maintain positive customer relationships through effective communication.
- Complete required work tickets using hand-held equipment.
- Ensure the service vehicle has accurate and appropriate parts inventory by ordering supplies, performing bi-annual inventory audits, and keeping the vehicle clean and organized.
- Build cross-functional relationships with Planning, Sales, and Customers by coordinating activities and maintaining open communication.
- Comply with safety standards: maintain a safe work area, complete daily stretches and assigned safety training, and use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one year of work experience.
- Refrigeration/HVAC trade or vocational certification preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical, technical, and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to use a voltage meter preferred.
- Basic computer application and technology skills.
- Prior experience using a forklift preferred.
- Ability to obtain PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification upon hire is required.
- Valid Driver’s License, current vehicle liability insurance, and a driving record within policy guidelines (no major violations within the last three years).
- Class-E Driver’s license required for Missouri drivers and locations only.
Physical Requirements
- Speaking: Constantly with customers (investigating, negotiating, recommending, reporting, etc.).
- Acute Vision: Constantly (observing both near and far, reading documents).
- Typing: Frequently using electronic devices for day-to-day business (order confirmation, instant messaging, texting).
- Mobility: Frequent travel throughout customer locations (walking in backrooms, aisles, greeting customers).
- Bending/Squatting: Frequently (lifting and placing equipment in stores/offices).
- Lifting: Frequent—lift 50 lbs. or less (moving vendors, placing fountain units).
- Pushing/pulling: Frequent use of manual carts.
- Climbing: Frequent entering and exiting the cab of a truck.
- Driving: Constant travel between customer locations (must be able to drive delivery vehicles).
Pay
$23.00 to $25.50 an hour
