Equipment Service Representative
About the Role
Provide efficient and timely onsite equipment service to assigned customers for Rotary Vacuum Chamber and other packaging equipment located in protein processor plants. This Level II role requires a mechanical and electrical technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot most packaging machine issues, occasionally requiring management support for difficult issues.
Responsibilities
- Act as a safety leader and prioritize safety in all responsibilities.
- Understand customer requirements related to product and equipment problems.
- Service customer equipment to maintain optimum performance of equipment, packaging films, and shrink bag materials.
- Provide preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for Rotary Chamber and other flexible plastic packaging equipment at customer facilities using Amcor materials.
- Maintain accurate and timely reports on work activities and time utilization.
- Assist in the installation and start-up of all packaging equipment manufactured and sold by AFNA.
- Assist in the rebuilding of Rotary Chamber equipment in Amcor’s RE&D facility in New London, WI.
- Provide input into the design, installation, and start-up of packaging equipment manufactured by outside suppliers or RE&D.
- Conduct training for customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Assist on projects and take the lead on smaller tasks within an overall project.
- Establish and maintain effective relations with customers, sales personnel, and internal AFNA staff.
- Complete relevant reporting within 5 days, expense reports within a month of business trips, and submit weekly schedules within the designated time frame.
Requirements
- Technical Degree or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical technology or a similar discipline preferred. Megatronics training and certification preferred.
- Physical demands: Ability to drive, stand, walk, use hands to manipulate tools and parts, stoop, kneel, talk, hear, and have good near and far vision acuity and effective depth perception. Ability to climb and balance and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
- 3–5 years of experience in the food packaging industry (materials & machinery).
- Willing to travel 75% or more and hold a valid driver’s license.

Pay
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $74,100 to $92,600. Base pay may vary within the full salary range of $74,100 to $111,100 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A geographic differential may apply based on work location. The position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan or Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance.
