Equipment Service Representative

About the role

To provide efficient and timely onsite equipment service to assigned customers for Rotary Vacuum Chamber and other packaging equipment located in protein processor plants. Level II: Possess a mechanical and electrical technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot most packaging machine issues. Occasionally requires management support to handle difficult issues.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.
• Understands customer requirements relating to problems with products and equipment.
• Services customer equipment to maintain optimum performance of equipment, packaging films, and shrink bag materials.
• Provides preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for Rotary Chamber and other flexible plastic packaging equipment at customer facilities using Amcor materials.
• Maintains accurate and timely reports on work activities and time utilization.
• Assists in the installation and start-up of all packaging equipment manufactured and sold by AFNA.
• Assists in the rebuilding of Rotary Chamber equipment in Amcor’s RE&D facility in New London, WI.
• Provides input, as requested, into the design, installation, and start-up of packaging equipment manufactured by outside suppliers or RE&D.
• Conducts training for customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Assists on projects and may take the lead on smaller tasks within an overall project.
• Establishes and maintains effective relations with customers, sales personnel, and internal AFNA staff personnel.
• Completes relevant reporting within 5 days, completes expense reports within a month of business trip, and turns in weekly schedules within the designated time frame.

Requirements

• Technical Degree or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical technology or similar discipline preferred. Megatronics training and certification preferred.
• Physical demands: The duties require driving, standing, walking, using hands to manipulate tools and parts, stooping, kneeling, talking, hearing, and good near and far vision acuity and effective depth perception. The position requires the ability to climb and balance and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
• 3–5 years of experience in the food packaging industry (material & machinery).
• Willing to travel 75% or more and holds a valid driver’s license.

Pay

The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $74,100 to $92,600; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range of $74,100 to $111,100 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages, and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. The position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance.
