Essential Functions
- Receives and sorts mail
- Delivers to downtown campuses
- Drives City vehicle to post office and bank to pick up and deliver mail
- Stamps and batches mail
- Prepares and processes mass mailings using folding machine
- Enters departmental account numbers and postage into a computerized mailing machine
- Boxes and delivers large mail-outs for commercial rates
- Produces a monthly postage expense report for Finance
- Prepares and processes various forms and documents
- Fills in for Office Assistant at front desk as needed
- Performs other related duties
Minimum Qualifications
- Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a high school diploma
- Six months experience involving clerical work involving computer operations
- Mailroom experience, including operation of computerized mail meter and folding & inserting machines is preferred
Supplemental Information
- A written test and a keyboarding test will be administered to qualified candidates
- Must have a regular Class D driver's license
- All City employees must be residents of the State of Tennessee
- All appointments are made at beginning salary unless otherwise authorized
