Equipment Operator, Senior

About the role

The Senior Equipment Operator performs advanced, skilled work in the operation of heavy equipment and vehicles used in the maintenance, repair, and construction of public infrastructure for the City of McDonough. This position is distinguished by a higher level of responsibility, operational skill, and leadership expectations.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles to perform maintenance, repair, and construction tasks on public infrastructure.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of equipment operations to ensure efficient and effective project completion.
• Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced operators.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain equipment in good working order.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment operation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
