Equipment Operator Heavy - Streets and Stormwater
Job Summary
Performs skilled work in the operation of complex construction/maintenance equipment. An employee in this class is responsible for performing tasks of more than average difficulty involving the safe operation and routine maintenance of assigned equipment. Tasks, at times, are performed under hazardous conditions and employees are expected to be particularly alert and careful. Under general supervision, employees are required to exercise initiative and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion by observation and through results obtained.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Two (2) years of experience in the operation of assigned equipment required
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience
- Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions
- Florida Commercial Driver's License Class B or higher required prior to employment

- Fifth Wheel Tractor Truck w/Sludge Trailer, 15 cubic yards

- Sweeper, Street Bucket Machine, Hydraulic Front End Loader, over 3 cubic yards
- Dump Truck (17 cubic yards) with attached trailer with skid loader (GVW rating of 81,500 lbs.)
