Pay

$32–35/hr depending on experience and skill; potential for overtime varies by experience and location.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, state-approved High School Equivalency, or GED
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Physical ability to move objects and tools up to 75 pounds; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling
  • High level of dexterity
  • Basic tools per Altec tool policy
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive motor vehicles
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Commitment to safety in all tasks

Qualifications

  • Experience with aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes, or construction/mining/farm equipment such as excavators, skid steers, dozers, or tractors
  • Military heavy equipment experience (e.g., MRAP vehicle, HMEE, tanks)
  • Aircraft, aerospace, or ground support equipment (AGE/GSE) experience
  • Previous experience as a mechanic or technician, with a focus on heavy equipment
  • Education in mechanics, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform replacement of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
  • Utilize technical support resources (operator, parts, and maintenance manuals, HowFactory, etc.) for troubleshooting, procedures, and parts identification
  • Perform Unit Condition Inspections and Reports
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area
  • Adhere to Altec Safety practices and procedures
  • Advise supervisors of situations that may impact customer relationships
  • Provide accurate and sufficient information on all required documents
  • Demonstrate Altec Company Values
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
