EQUIPMENT MATERIEL MANAGER II

This position is with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), whose mission is improving lives and communities through transportation.

About the role

Within the Division of Equipment (DOE), under the direction of a Highway Equipment Superintendent II, III, or Equipment Materiel Manager III, you will supervise a staff engaged in Equipment Materiel Operations. This includes the purchasing, inventory, disbursement, shipping, and receiving of equipment parts, materiel, related equipment, and services for the fabrication, maintenance, repair, and disposal of mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff in purchasing, inventory, disbursement, shipping, and receiving of equipment parts and materiel.
• Oversee operations related to the fabrication, maintenance, repair, and disposal of mobile equipment.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and departmental policies.

Requirements

• Valid California Class C driver license (required for operating state-owned or leased vehicles).
• Valid California Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) (required for the position).
• Detailed work experience must be fully reflected on the application; notations such as "see attached" or "see resume" are not acceptable.
• If basing eligibility on education, unofficial transcripts/diplomas must be provided for verification. Foreign transcripts must include a U.S. equivalency evaluation report.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification for Equipment Materiel Manager II.

Pay

$5,850.00 - $7,260.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable.

Schedule

Permanent, full-time position. In-office work location in Shasta County.
