Responsibilities
- Cook up activities of the sterile processing department, demonstrating thorough knowledge of sterilization processes — from cleaning and decontamination to packaging, sterilization, and distribution
- Ensure quality and contents of instrument trays meet surgical needs
- Supervise case cart, SPD, and Core operations; develop and configure instrument trays for surgical procedures
- Handle daily processing of case cart supplies and instruments
- Collaborate with OR staff regarding instruments and supplies
- Participate in departmental planning and committee and engage in ongoing education and professional organizations
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and hospital policies
- Manage vendor adherence to established practices, including regularly scheduled inventory reviews, payment practices, and contract adherence
Requirements
- 1-2 years Instrument Experience Required
- 1-2 years Surgical Instrumentation Experience
Qualifications
- High School Diploma Required
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - HSPA Preferred
