Equipment Master Supervisor - Night Shift

Reports to: Equipment Manager • Location: Dalton, GA • Classification: Salary Exempt

About the role

The Equipment Master Supervisor ensures the safe, consistent daily operation of the production line, focusing on low waste, high yield, and top-quality product for customers. Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, the Line Leader guides the production process and controls process changes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure overall workflow of the lines and process is met in a timely manner.
• Mentor and develop team members.
• Maintain and improve high standards of housekeeping, safety, and quality in the area.
• Organize and direct work and team assignments under the guidance of the Equipment Manager; read and analyze production specs to determine requirements.
• Ensure all finished products meet quality specifications.
• Troubleshoot production problems and implement corrective actions.
• Run diagnostic tests and repair malfunctioning equipment across plant automation.
• Commission control systems, troubleshoot operational issues, and perform equipment and process instrumentation calibration (e.g., flow/pressure transmitters, level sensors).
• Perform preventative maintenance; manage stock of critical spares, input data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), execute work orders, back up programs, and maintain prints/manuals.
• Utilize SolidWorks CAD guidelines and department design procedures to create solid models and detail drawings.
• Troubleshoot programmable logic control (PLC), HMI, motor, and motor control problems.
• Perform root cause failure analysis for failed parts and design improvements using materials/fabrication knowledge.
• Identify critical machine components and analyze design features to ensure reliability.
• Drive operational improvement and cost reduction by enhancing industrial control schemes.
• Complete assigned work orders, write work requests, and collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and repair processing and solar module equipment.
• Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of solar module equipment.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand and walk the production area throughout the workday.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds without restriction.
• Reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting as required within company limits.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Qualifications

• Technical College or Associate Degree in Management (preferred).
• Forklift operation experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Senior Product Technician certification (preferred).
• Experience in high-tech or solar manufacturing industry and start-ups (preferred).
