Equipment Maintenance Technician (Savage, MD)
About the role
Join our team as a mechanically inclined individual responsible for maintaining our top-notch rental equipment, ensuring its immediate availability for safe utilization. You’ll prepare rental equipment orders, conduct inspections, perform repairs, and carry out routine preventative maintenance on a variety of electrical, hand-operated, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare rental equipment orders and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Disassemble, troubleshoot, repair, reassemble, and test various types of electrical, hand-operated, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on rental equipment.
- Operate a forklift to load and unload delivery vehicles and transport equipment within the warehouse.
- Drive company vehicles to transport rental orders safely and in a timely manner.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Mechanical background or aptitude strongly preferred (e.g., automotive mechanic, machine shop, heavy equipment operator, diesel mechanic, or engine repair experience).
- Hand and power tool experience desired.
- Experience working on air hoists, come-alongs, manual hoists, electric hoists, or other rigging equipment is beneficial but not required.
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record and ability to meet insurance underwriting guidelines.
- DOT certification required upon commencement of employment (provided at LGH expense); certification must be maintained.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs and lift/carry up to 55 lbs.
All employment offers are contingent upon passing a background/driver’s history check, previous employment verification, hair follicle drug test, and DOT physical.
Schedule
Monday – Friday (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.). Occasional overtime may be required.
Pay
Minimum starting pay: $24.00/hour. Eligible for a $1.00/hour increase after 6 months of employment, plus annual performance increases at 1 year and each year thereafter.
