What To Expect

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment. You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics. You will work with the highest caliber process and equipment engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize or eliminate downtime.

This is a physically demanding job working in tight spaces, requiring walking and standing all day, as well as, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders and lying on the ground intermittently throughout the day. In addition, the technician may wear a fall protection harness while working from heights or from a suspended position.

What You'll Do

  • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all industrial production and mechatronics equipment
  • Perform repairs on production-down equipment
  • Operate and repair every cell on a Line
  • Perform Corrective Maintenance repairs on more than one of these types of equipment
  • Experience with electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 phase, mechanical systems, conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC, networks and robotics
  • Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogues and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms
  • Ability to work off-shifts, as needed

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of extensive experience maintaining injection molding equipment, or aluminum casting equipment and automation and/or have equivalent training or relevant education
  • Basic computer skills (able to use basic PC applications to report issues and provide inputs)
  • Good mechanical and electrical knowledge to understand typical mechanisms and wiring associated with equipment
  • Able to read and use measuring equipment and have basic skills with volt meter to check AC/DC voltage, read continuity checks and expected known voltages
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatic system operations
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal

Physical Demands

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
  • Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
  • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
  • Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
  • Find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
