Equipment Maintenance Technician

What You’ll Do

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and test equipment and fixtures.
  • Utilize knowledge of PLC-controlled systems to assist in fault diagnosis, troubleshooting equipment, program verification, and coordination with engineering resources when required.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, digital, pneumatic, and control system issues.
  • Repair or replace defective components, parts, and assemblies.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential failures before breakdowns occur.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate PM records and equipment logs.
  • Provide feedback to the engineering team on program performance and process issues.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment.
  • Follow OSHA, company safety policies, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Ensure equipment operates in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Participate in safety audits and continuous improvement activities.
  • Requires coordination with the property owner to address HVAC, major plumbing, and roofing issues.

What You Need

  • High School Diploma or GED. Associate degree in Electronics or related technical field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience of equipment maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic), specifically for:
    • Pick & Place
    • Reflow ovens and vacuum furnaces
    • Electronic test equipment
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Solder experience, current solder certification a plus.
  • Proficiency using basic hand tools and precision measurement tools.
  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Overall experience with production machinery and maintenance for small or light industrial and benchtop equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and around moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate tools, controls, and precision instruments.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving hands, arms, and shoulders.
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment, including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, and fall protection.
