Role and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or other technical equipment issues. Determine the root cause of problems and implement effective corrective actions.
- Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on machinery and equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to perform routine checks and tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or malfunctions to minimize downtime and disruptions to production.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during maintenance activities to protect yourself, colleagues, and the manufacturing environment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, equipment maintenance history, and inventory levels. Report inventory needs to the maintenance supervisor or administrator.
- Calibrate and test equipment to ensure accurate performance and compliance with specifications.
- Aid in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment or machinery.
- Suggest and implement improvements to equipment and maintenance procedures to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Participate in training programs to enhance your skills and stay updated on new technologies and maintenance practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED minimum with training and experience in technical field.
- 0-8 years of experience.
- Hands-on troubleshooting of production equipment.
- Participation in OEE improvement activities.
- Experience in high volume manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems commonly found in manufacturing equipment. This includes hydraulics, pneumatics, motor sensors, PLCs, and other industrial controls.
- Adept at troubleshooting and resolving technical issues quickly and efficiently.
- Detail-oriented to accurately document maintenance tasks, equipment condition, repair records, and parts usage.
- Strong aptitude to one of these knowledge areas: Electrical controls, Mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs.
- Ability to collaborate with other departments to perform tasks and duties.
- Certifications in trade skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLCs, automation devices, robots, and other electromechanical devices.
- Prior experience with computerized maintenance management systems or other tool tracking systems.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. individually or up to 50 lbs. in tandem.
- Able to sit, stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time during working hours.
