About the role
As an Equipment Maintenance Technician with Broadcom’s Wireless Semiconductor Division (WSD), you’ll sustain and improve wafer fab equipment in support of existing as well as new processes in production facilities located along the Front Range in Northern Colorado. This position is on the night shift (D-shift).
Responsibilities
- Support new and established tool sets as well as new platforms, developing and applying extensive equipment knowledge, job skills, and procedures to complete complex, specialized assignments in creative and effective ways.
- Contribute to ongoing equipment improvement and optimization processes as part of the Equipment Team.
- Use systematic methods for new tooling acceptance, start-up, optimization, and upgrade work to improve performance on existing platforms.
- Apply a comprehensive understanding of wafer fab equipment maintenance and manufacturing optimization.
- Work on complex assignments requiring judgment, initiative, and technical/specialized knowledge to resolve problems and develop solutions with minimal supervision.
- Complete established procedures precisely and efficiently, adhering strictly to documented processes.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including reasoning through multiple possibilities and exhibiting sound judgment in repair strategies based on incomplete data.
- Utilize robust data-driven solutions and key performance metrics through existing data modules (SQCS, CMMS, data mining/management skills).
- Assist in determining and documenting methods and procedures for new tooling platforms, often providing guidance and training to less experienced technicians.
- Take strong ownership and initiative to identify, define, and address issues within your area of responsibility.
- Effectively multitask with concurrent high priorities and find creative solutions under pressure.
- Tackle jobs outside your immediate core area of expertise, leveraging strong general technician fundamentals and methods.
- Focus on overall tool availability, MTTR, and MTBF, ensuring CMMS entries are made for daily maintenance activities and PMs are completed on time at 95% or better.
- Collaborate with Equipment Engineering, Production, and Process Engineering to improve and stabilize platforms, line response, quality, yield, tool reliability, productivity, cycle time, and cost reduction.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and partnership within the Equipment Maintenance Team, mentoring new technicians and learning from experienced colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Management, Operations, Engineering, Factory Business Control, Fab IT Systems, and Clean Room Facilities.
- Embrace and carry out cross-functional and organizational goals, demonstrating flexibility with work hours and critical coverage as needed.
Requirements
- AA degree in Electronic Technology, or equivalent military training, or approved journeyman apprenticeship program.
- 2+ years of experience in the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of wafer fabrication equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, vacuum technology, and related principles and tools.
- Proven ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and deliver results.
- Track record of self-motivated learning.
- Legal authorization to work within the U.S.

Pay
The salary range for this position is USD 22.34 - USD 31.35 per hour. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents.
