Equipment Maintenance Mechanic II - 2nd Shift

Responsibilities
- Perform routine duties of preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair plant production equipment.
- Assist other maintenance personnel and monitor equipment performance.
- Perform general housekeeping of the maintenance shop and job site.
- Promote and maintain a safe and clean work environment through the enforcement of housekeeping safety policies.
- Provide suggestions and feedback on improving departmental processes, performance goals, and environment.
- Work from prints, sketches, instructions, manuals, and schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Operate, repair, and maintain all production equipment.
- Assist with machine set-ups for production as necessary.
- Work with little or no supervision, utilizing own accountability and ownership of work.
- Perform duties involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic applications.
- Fabricate, develop, assemble, and/or install equipment.
- Perform routine safety checks on production equipment.
- Take action on any unsafe or out-of-compliance issues.
- Report equipment problems and lockout/tagout situations to the Supervisor when required.
- Account for tasks and parts usage in MP2.
- Monitor equipment performance and minimize unscheduled downtime.
- Perform other related and similar duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Successfully pass mechanical aptitude exams.
- Successfully complete and pass required lift truck operation tests and training, and obtain/maintain appropriate lift truck licensing.
- Able to pay close attention to detail and follow instructions/procedures to meet quality standards.
- Able to perform repetitive tasks consistently, including physical requirements.
- Maintain consistent and acceptable attendance.
- Available to work overtime as needed, including weekends and mandatory overtime based on business demands.
- Able to fulfill all essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
- Abide by all safety policies, procedures, rules, and guidelines.
- Meet all Mechanic I qualifications; able to use shop equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, band saws, welders) and troubleshoot electrical problems.
- Prior mechanical and manufacturing experience (minimum five years of related experience).
- Possess sufficient keyboard and PC literacy to accurately complete work orders in MP2.

Pay
The hiring range for this position in Itasca is $25-$32 per hour, with a $0.60 shift differential for a 2nd shift position. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
Schedule
This is a second shift position from 2 PM to 10 PM, Monday to Friday.
