Equipment Field Technician I

About the role

OnSite Diesel specializes in heavy equipment repair and maintenance, keeping the machines that power pipeline installation, rock quarry operations, and landfill management running strong and reliable. We operate as a DEUTZ brand, acquired in 2025 as part of a strategic growth initiative to expand our nationwide service footprint.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Conducting physical inspections and visual checks of diesel vehicles and equipment. - Using diagnostic tools and computerized systems to identify mechanical and electrical issues. - Interpreting diagnostic test results to pinpoint the cause of malfunctions. - Performing preventive maintenance, such as oil changes, filters and fluid checks. - Repairing or replacing worn-out or damaged components, including engines, transmissions, injectors, and cooling systems. - Addressing issues with critical vehicle systems like brakes, steering, exhaust, electrical, hydraulics. - Conducting test drives to evaluate vehicle performance and verify repairs have been successful. - Ensuring emissions control systems and other components meet federal and state regulations.

Other Qualifications

- Consulting with customers to explain detected issues and discuss repair options. - Advising customers on maintenance needs and recommended repairs. - Adhering to strict safety procedures and company policies while working. - Using power, machine, and hand tools safely and effectively. - Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Minimum Requirements

- High School Diploma - Valid Driver’s License - Must be able to drive company vehicles - 1-3 years Equipment Repair and Diagnostics experience - 1-3 years Equipment Maintenance and Repair experience - 1 year of experience working in the field exclusively

Preferred Requirements

- Deutz engine maintenance and repair experience

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs at a time.

- Individual Contributor

Travel Requirements

- This position does not require overnight travel.

Pay

Position includes 5% annual performance bonus.
