Epileptologist
Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine seeks a board-certified/eligible Neurologist with fellowship training in Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology (epilepsy track) to join the Department of Neurology.
About the role
Join a department of 37 full-time physicians and 19 advanced practice providers. Work within a team of fellowship-trained and experienced epileptologists and epilepsy neurosurgeons at an NAEC Level 4 Comprehensive Epilepsy Center with an ABRET accredited EEG Lab, providing the full gamut of epilepsy and EEG services in collaboration with Neurosurgery. Participate in medical student, resident, and fellow education, and engage in robust research opportunities. Contribute to comprehensive patient care, improving the health and well-being of the communities served. Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level, dependent on qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical expertise in epilepsy, with an interest in developing a focus area such as the surgical epilepsy program, intra-operative monitoring, continuous EEG monitoring, or outpatient epilepsy
- Manage pharmacological treatment of epilepsy
- Perform video-EEG monitoring, intracranial monitoring, and neurostimulation
- Obtain licensure to practice in the State of Pennsylvania and valid federal and state narcotics certificates
Requirements
- M.D., M.D./Ph.D., D.O., or equivalent degree
- Board-certified/eligible in Neurology with completion of an Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology (epilepsy track) fellowship
- Board-certified/eligible in Epilepsy preferred
