About the role
Legacy Medical Group Neurology is seeking an outpatient (clinic-based) Epilepsy Program Director to lead our growing epilepsy services. The position is based at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Northwest Portland.
Responsibilities
- Outpatient consultation and longitudinal care for patients with epilepsy and other neurological conditions
- Provide oversight of the Epilepsy Program, including the 4-bed EMU and comprehensive epilepsy surgery service
- Manage a team of 9 outpatient neurologists, 4 clinic-based APPs, and 10 neurohospitalists
- Lead the evaluation of patients for epilepsy surgery and work towards NAEC epilepsy center certification
- Grow an epilepsy-focused subspecialty practice, including outpatient clinic and EMU service
- Interpret EEGs and manage a robust subspecialty program in autoimmune neurology/MS, epilepsy, headache, movement disorders, neuromuscular medicine, neuro-ophthalmology, and vascular neurology
- Opportunities for research, teaching, and leadership involvement within Legacy Health
Qualifications
- Fellowship training in Epilepsy
- A minimum of five years of post-graduate experience in outpatient epilepsy management and EEG interpretation
- Prior involvement in an epilepsy surgery program
- The skills to partner effectively with the functional neurosurgeon and lead a team to evaluate patients for surgery and achieve NAEC epilepsy center certification
- Board Certified in Neurology
- Licensed to practice medicine in the applicable state
- Active member in good standing of Hospital Medical Staff
- BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association (ACLS may substitute)
