EPIC Willow Inpatient Analyst

About the Role

Client is seeking an experienced EPIC Willow Analyst to support pharmacy workflows and Epic Willow applications across inpatient and/or outpatient environments. Candidates with Epic Willow Inpatient or Willow Ambulatory experience are encouraged to apply. Experience or certification in both is a strong plus, but not required. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, Epic Willow configuration and support, system integrations, troubleshooting, testing, upgrades, and workflow optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, maintain, and optimize Epic Willow applications supporting pharmacist and pharmacy technician workflows.
  • Support pharmacy workflows across inpatient and/or outpatient pharmacy environments.
  • Partner with pharmacy stakeholders, end users, operational teams, and IT teams to gather requirements and improve system functionality.
  • Support integrations between Epic Willow and systems such as Omnicell, infusion pumps, and third-party packaging solutions.
  • Troubleshoot application, workflow, interface, and data-exchange issues.
  • Perform system maintenance, testing, validation, upgrades, implementations, and optimization activities.
  • Develop and maintain workflow documentation, system documentation, training materials, and related technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, technical teams, and operational stakeholders to deliver Epic initiatives within scope and timeline.
  • Ensure solutions comply with organizational policies, healthcare regulations, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Provide ongoing application and end-user support for pharmacy operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience. Alternatively, 4+ years of direct Epic Willow application support experience in a healthcare environment may substitute for a degree.
  • Epic Willow Inpatient or Epic Willow Ambulatory Certification, or ability to obtain certification within an agreed-upon timeframe.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy workflows and operations.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Epic Willow applications in a healthcare environment.

  • Experience with additional Epic applications that integrate with Willow, including:
    • Compass Rose
    • EpicCare Ambulatory
    • EpicCare Inpatient
  • Experience building or maintaining:
    • eRx records
    • Orderable records
    • Panel records
    • Order Sets
  • Knowledge of pharmacy-supporting Epic functionality, including Clinical Documentation, Orders, and One-Step Medications.
  • Experience with Epic Bridges and troubleshooting interfaces/data exchange issues.
  • Experience with Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization, or workflow redesign initiatives.
  • Experience supporting integrated healthcare information systems and clinical applications.
  • Experience working directly with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, clinical users, and pharmacy operations teams.
