Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary SME for Epic Willow Inpatient, supporting pharmacy application workflows, configurations, and operational stability.
- Manage and prioritize daily application support activities, including incident resolution, service requests, and SLA adherence.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to pharmacy automation, dispensing cabinets/robots, interfaces, printers, labels, and error queues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve system reliability, patient safety, and workflow efficiency.
- Deliverables or Project Scope:
- Build, maintain, and optimize inpatient pharmacy configurations including medication order sets, formulary setup, IV workflows, compounding, and repackaging.
- Configure and support medication billing and charging workflows, including NDC billing, pharmacy charge maps, and 340B processes.
- Develop and maintain BPA/OPA alerts and decision-support tools to enhance clinical quality and medication safety.
- Support Epic upgrades, enhancements, testing, documentation, and end-user training to ensure compliant and effective system adoption.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Pharmacy, or a related field OR equivalent relevant work experience.
- Active and current Epic Willow Ambulatory certification required; certification must be maintained throughout the engagement.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting Epic applications in a healthcare IT environment.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Epic Willow Ambulatory configuration, build, and support.
- Experience supporting ambulatory pharmacy workflows, including medication ordering, dispensing, inventory, and POS processes.
- Proven experience managing day-to-day EHR application support, including incident resolution and SLA adherence.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Able to communicate effectively with clinical stakeholders, including pharmacists, nurses, and physicians.
- Strong proficiency in inpatient pharmacy workflows, including CPOE, pharmacy verification, dispensing, IV workflows, and medication administration.
- Experience with medication build and billing configurations, including NDC billing, pharmacy charge maps, and 340B workflows.
- Working knowledge of pharmacy automation systems, interfaces, error queue management, labels, and printers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional Epic certifications (e.g., Ambulatory, Home Infusion, Bugsy, or related modules).
- Prior experience working in large health systems or healthcare IT consulting environments.
- Familiarity with 340B billing, pharmacy benefits administration, and pharmacy revenue cycle processes.
- Prior experience working with offshore or distributed support teams.
- Experience collaborating closely with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and pharmacy operations leaders in inpatient settings.
