Core Responsibilities
- Collaborates with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application’s configuration, function, and access.
- Serves as a primary support contact for application end-users.
- Initiates the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the application.
- Initiates all phases of testing and the documentation of workflow design.
- Performs the analysis of information technology in clinical work processes and validates the impacts to the workflow.
- Initiates the identification of issues and guides the work to resolve them.
- Supports junior staff members in the evaluation and resolution of service tickets, identification and implementation of application changes, retrieval of requested data, and execution of day-to-day operations.
- Collaborates with trainers on application changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies.
- Works with stakeholders, the business community, and end users to ensure the application meets UHealth's business/clinical needs.
- Participates in on-call rotations and support and attend and participate in, applicable committees.
Department Specific Functions
- Oversees and leads the Associate Epic Analysts and Epic Analysts on the team.
- Initiates the implementation, builds, and modifies of the HIM applications.
- Provides oversight and leadership to Associate Epic Analysts and Epic Analysts on the team.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- Epic certificate in Hospital Coding Administration, Deficiency Tracking Administration, Release of Information Administration, Identity are required.
- 3-5 years of experience, preferably in healthcare or healthcare-related organization.
- Previous operational, project management, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with processes that fall under HIM: Chart Tracking, Release of Information, Deficiency Tracking, and Coding preferred.
- Familiarity with transcription and scanning workflows and vendors, and confidentiality and privacy guidelines preferred.
- Detail knowledge of Master Patient Index (MPI) interfaces and other sources of patient information preferred.
- Understanding of duplicate patient management processes preferred.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Excel.
- Problem Solving: Seeking, logically examining, and interpreting information from different sources to determine a problem's cause and developing a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrence.
- Dependability: Ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
- Critical Thinking: Ability and willingness to see things in an open-minded way and examine an idea or concept from as many angles as possible.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees including senior leadership.
