Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the data center facility, focusing on mechanical systems including chillers and cooling towers.
- Monitor system performance and diagnose/troubleshoot issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure reliable, continuous operation.
- Take ownership of the building as a whole, handling general facility needs such as plumbing, fire protection, and fuel systems.
- Identify issues, prioritize work, and take action with minimal oversight while maintaining high standards for the facility.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical plans and use judgment to determine appropriate actions.
Requirements
Essential skills and experience:
- Hands-on, self-directed approach.
- Experience with commercial mechanical systems (3+ years preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical plans.
- Judgment to know when to work independently and when to engage remote subject matter experts.
Qualifications
Education and certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training or degree in a related field preferred.
