Epic Cadence/Referral Analyst

About the Role

This senior analyst position supports clinical information systems aligned with UC Davis Health goals. The role involves analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and high-level technical support of assigned clinical applications, exercising initiative, originality, and judgment in applying established principles and practices to new and unusual problems.

Incumbent collaborates with technology infrastructure teams, faculty in hospital departments and clinics, implementing and supporting specialized, complex distributed clinical information systems and multiple complex ancillary/patient care systems. Responsibilities include supporting large, complex, and/or unique projects affecting multiple departments, including product analysis, assessment, recommendation, implementation, testing, and roll-out of new technologies.

This position requires a high degree of knowledge in ancillary/downstream clinical application life cycle management and involves complex clinical systems problem-solving, frequently analyzing unique issues without precedent.

Responsibilities

• 35% - Clinical System Management: Oversee and support assigned clinical applications, ensuring alignment with UC Davis Health objectives.
• 25% - Clinical Systems Analysis: Analyze clinical systems, workflows, and integration of technology into clinical or operational processes.
• 20% - Technical Project Management: Lead complex projects, including assessment, implementation, testing, and roll-out of new technologies.
• 20% - Process Management: Develop and optimize workflows, collaborating with multiple departments to ensure effective system utilization.

Requirements

• Epic certification/proficiency required: Cadence or Referrals & Authorizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, information technology, computer science, or related area; and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
• Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of clinical practices and principles.
• Ability to gather information from multiple sources and analyze applicability and appropriateness.
• Experience developing workflows and integrating technology into clinical or operational workflows.
• Proficiency in office automation software (word processing, spreadsheets, visual presentations, etc.).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and change management skills to establish and maintain productive working relationships.

Pay

Salary range: $8,959.26–$17,709.72 per month.

Schedule

• Full-time (100% time).
• Hybrid work arrangement (mix of on-site and remote).
• Shift: Monday–Friday.
• Must be available for extended hours, weekends, or evenings to meet critical deadlines and support mission-critical clinical systems.
• 24-hour on-call rotation may be required.

Work Environment

• Location: UCDHAS Building (HSP165).
• May require working in clinical and patient care areas, various hospital locations, clinics, and outlying buildings.
• UC Davis is a smoke- and tobacco-free campus.

This is a critical position contingent upon clearing a criminal background check, which may include drug screening, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment. The position is designated as a mandated reporter under CANRA and UC policy, with employment contingent on compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and training requirements.
