Epic Applications Security Analyst

About the role

Member of a team that manages and monitors the safety of information systems assets and protects systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Focuses on the Epic system, coordinates security efforts between Epic application teams, and ensures authorized users can successfully log in to Hyperspace with appropriate security to complete their job.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the safety of information systems assets.
• Protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.
• Coordinate security efforts between Epic application teams.
• Ensure authorized users can successfully log in to Hyperspace with appropriate security.
• Respond to, analyze, and resolve information security issues, concerns, questions, incidents, and events.
• Identify and evaluate risks and threats.
• Make resourceful, practical decisions and address unexpected problems.
• Conduct evaluations of current information security posture and recommend approaches to strengthen it.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or information systems management, or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years of additional related experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.

Experience (minimum three years):

• Information technology field, preferably concentrated in information security.
• UNIX operating systems (desired) and Microsoft operating systems (required).
• Risk and threat assessment processes and practices.
• Project planning and management.
• Business continuity planning, documentation, and evaluation.
• Vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Qualys, Nessus, Nexpose, Saint).
• Web application vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., IBM AppScan, HP WebInspect, Acunetix, NTO Spider, Burp Suite Pro).
• Static analysis tools (e.g., IBM AppScan Source, HP Fortify).
• High‑level programming languages (e.g., Java, C, C++, .NET – C#, VB).
• Web application development (e.g., ASP.NET, ASP, PHP, J2EE, JSP).
• Epic application security (a plus).

Certification/Licensure: None.
