About the role
The Epic Application Analyst Senior is responsible for advanced configuration, support, and optimization of Epic applications supporting core business and patient care functions. The role serves as the primary analyst and subject matter expert for assigned Epic modules or workflows, independently leads complex issue resolution and enhancements across various Epic domains, and partners closely with business, clinical, IT, and vendor stakeholders to ensure system reliability, data integrity, workflow effectiveness, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary owner for one or more assigned Epic applications, modules, or functional domains across enterprise and clinical systems.
- Act as the subject matter expert for assigned systems, including supported business or clinical workflows, Epic configuration, data flow, and upstream or downstream integrations.
- Own application and module configuration decisions, ensuring alignment with vendor best practices, regulatory requirements, patient safety considerations, and organizational standards.
- Lead application- or module-specific testing, validation, and post-implementation support, including support for upgrades, regulatory changes, and workflow redesigns.
- Establish, promote, and maintain application documentation, configuration records, security roles, workflows, data governance artifacts, and support procedures in accordance with organizational and compliance standards.
- Partner with infrastructure, integration, and security teams to ensure Epic applications are designed, configured, and supported in alignment with architectural standards, performance requirements, availability expectations, and disaster recovery practices.
- Lead analysis of business requirements and translate needs into scalable Epic solutions and configuration designs.
- Design and configure complex business rules, workflows, security roles, and data structures within assigned Epic domains.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex incidents; perform root cause analysis and coordinate resolution across applications, teams, and vendors.
- Lead release impact analysis, regression planning, end-to-end testing coordination, defect triage, and go-live readiness for assigned domains.
- Drive change request intake, risk assessment, documentation, communication, and implementation in accordance with governance and change control processes.
- Mentor analysts in troubleshooting, documentation, requirements gathering, build methodology, testing, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare application support including Epic, or experience in operational/functional roles with direct, hands-on use of Epic demonstrating subject matter expertise in core workflows and processes.
- Current Epic certification or proficiency for assigned applications is required; incumbent must maintain required certifications and training.
- Experience in advanced configuration, upgrades and releases, integrated testing, and production support required.
- Strong understanding of security roles, data controls, change management, and integration fundamentals.
- Proven ability to lead stakeholder discussions and translate business or clinical requirements into scalable, supportable solutions.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated mastery in analysis and troubleshooting of healthcare IT applications.
- Strong understanding of healthcare computing environments, clinical and operational workflows, and downstream impacts of system changes.
- Experience with enterprise reporting, auditing, regulatory compliance requirements, or audit readiness expectations.
- Familiarity with change management, testing methodologies, and system governance practices.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, produce accurate work, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to function in a setting with a wide variety of duties and numerous interruptions.
- Demonstrated understanding of healthcare computing environments.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, learn quickly, and maintain strong attention to detail.
- Proven record of excellent organizational skills and communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.

Pay
Salary Range: Min $104,383 - Max $156,575/annual DOE
Schedule
Core business hours are approximately 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Employees may be expected to work off hours as necessary to fulfill responsibilities or meet business needs.
