Epic Application Analyst Senior, MyChart

Accountabilities

  • Analyze business and clinical requirements to define system scope, objectives, and technical solutions within the Epic environment.
  • Design, configure, test, and maintain application functionality to support evolving business and user needs.
  • Lead and support software testing activities, including validation, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.
  • Translate user requirements into system specifications while ensuring alignment with technical standards and organizational goals.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical teams, business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors.
  • Evaluate system impacts across multiple applications and recommend solutions that support integrated workflows.
  • Provide expert guidance on Epic capabilities, limitations, enhancements, and best practices.
  • Support application upgrades, implementations, conversions, operational planning, and ongoing maintenance activities.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, documentation, and resource estimates to successfully deliver technology initiatives.
  • Cook up application development, reporting, forms, workflows, and system improvements while maintaining data integrity and availability.
  • Provide production support, issue resolution, and guidance to end users and team members.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation and workflow optimization.
  • Requirements

    • The ideal candidate is an experienced Epic professional with a strong background in healthcare technology, application analysis, and business process improvement.
    • They should be comfortable working independently while collaborating with clinical users, technical teams, and stakeholders across the organization.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
    • 5+ years of experience working in IT or a clinical technology environment.
    • Experience with business process mapping, requirements analysis, acceptance testing, documentation, and application support.
    • Epic application experience with strong understanding of platforms, databases, interfaces, connectivity, and technical components.
    • Able to obtain and maintain required Epic certifications within the required timeframe.
    • Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Able to translate business and user needs into technical specifications and actionable solutions.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare users, vendors, and technical professionals.
    • Experience with change management practices and technology implementation processes.
    • Able to work independently, provide guidance to team members, and manage complex projects.
