About the Role

The Epic Analyst is responsible for coordinating and participating in aspects of systems analysis, planning, design, development, testing, and implementation of the Dayton Children's Epic instance. This individual will understand hospital workflows, processes, policies, and business operations and will participate in planning related to future workflows. The analyst coordinates the completion and follow-up of change and enhancement requests from users or others affected by the Epic system.

The coordinator performs in-depth analyses of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with the Epic software. Coordinates evaluation of development efforts, planning pilot and full implementations of new Epic features, and processing user feedback and requests. Maintains a detailed understanding and working knowledge of their respective areas within the Epic instance, its functions, and its relationship to other information systems within the enterprise. Participates in the planning, providing, and coordinating of Epic training.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and participate in systems analysis, planning, design, development, testing, and implementation of the Epic instance.
  • Understand and analyze hospital workflows, processes, policies, and business operations.
  • Plan and implement future workflows within the Epic system.
  • Complete and follow up on change and enhancement requests from users.
  • Perform in-depth analyses of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues.
  • Evaluate development efforts and plan pilot and full implementations of new Epic features.
  • Process user feedback and requests.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of Epic functions and their relationship to other enterprise systems.
  • Plan, provide, and coordinate Epic training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years of work experience in a healthcare-related role or in a position involving systems analysis, project management, or IT support.
  • Experience in patient accounts, billing, or hospital financial experience (Billing focus).
  • Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, or Contracts certification.
  • Experience in training or educating staff on new systems or processes.
  • Must achieve a satisfactory score on the EPIC assessment as a condition of employment (administered after initial screening).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited program.
  • Familiarity with Epic systems or other healthcare information systems.

Schedule

Full time, 40 hours per week.

Location

Hybrid work arrangement based in Ohio.
