EPG Sales Engineer
Responsibilities
- Develop sales opportunities with new and existing customers.
- Support Electric Power customers through:
- Working through customer account commercial issues
- Providing technical documentation support
- Supporting other sales engineers
- Assisting with project management as needed
- Seeks out prospective customers and provides proposals for Electric Power Generation equipment.
- Responds to current customer requests for Electric Power Generation equipment.
- Analyzes engineering specifications to quote equipment that will meet the project requirements.
- Analyzes Electric Power Generation sales opportunities in the territory and systematically targets business opportunities.
- Documents the project and component specifications required by individual customers.
- Documents sales quotations for customers using standard Ziegler formatting.
- Supports other Sales Engineers as well as customers by providing technical information, literature, schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Learns about Cat and competitive products in order to offer the best solutions based on customer interests and concerns.
- Quotes and closes sales transactions within assigned authority parameters, completing all required sales documentation.
- Captures and coordinates the activities of support divisions within Ziegler and Caterpillar to manage product field service and product quality issues.
- Documents quotation, win, loss and data along with other business activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years of technical sales experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Clean driving record
- Working knowledge of internal combustion engine installations and drive trains
- Analytical skills
- Electric Power, Electrician, Generator, or Reciprocating Engine experience desired

Pay
The total compensation (base plus incentive) for this position is $136,000.00 to $204,000.00. Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, and education.
