EOI - Burundi - Technical Advisory Support On Dam Safety - PRODERER

About the role

The Independent Dam Safety Panel of Experts (DSPoE) will provide technical advisory support on dam safety for the Ruvyironza Multi-Purposes Water Resources Development Project (PRODERER). The panel will consist of three individual international experts who will be responsible for reviewing and assessing the safety of the dams involved in the project.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess the safety of the dams involved in the Ruvyironza Multi-Purposes Water Resources Development Project (PRODERER).
• Provide recommendations on measures to enhance dam safety.
• Conduct site visits to the dams as necessary.
• Prepare and submit reports on the findings and recommendations.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of relevant professional experience in dam safety, hydrology, or related fields.
• Proven expertise in conducting dam safety assessments and providing technical advice.
• Experience working on similar projects in Africa or the Nile Basin region is preferred.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French is an asset.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in civil engineering, hydrology, or a related field.
• Professional certifications in dam safety or related areas.
• Relevant work experience in dam safety assessment and management.

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Benefits

• No relocation allowance provided.
• Travel expenses may be reimbursed according to AfDB guidelines.

Pay

• The pay rate will be determined based on the individual's qualifications and experience.

Schedule

• The engagement is expected to last for approximately 12 months.
• Work will be conducted remotely, with occasional travel to project sites.
