About the role

As an Automotive Environmental Test Technician, you'll conduct environmental testing on a wide range of automotive components, following internationally recognized standards while working closely with customers and engineering teams to solve technical challenges and deliver trusted results.

Responsibilities

  • Read and conduct testing per provided testing standards under direct supervision of manager.
  • Read and understand client-provided or otherwise published performance or product safety standards.
  • Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
  • Under scope of the project, identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing.
  • Set up and operate EUT; perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed and directed by manager.
  • Record and document testing process and results.
  • Perform testing of products in accordance with standards. Core tests include, but are not limited to: Vibration durability, environmental performance, temperature, pressure, stability, voltage and current sources.
  • Following sample handling procedures, ensure that sample is logged into and out of the system.
  • Move equipment as needed through the facility.
  • Properly package sample for shipment.
  • Compile data, test results and evaluations for senior technician to write final report.
  • Communicate project status and test results to management throughout testing.
  • Provide on-going support to clients as needed and/or as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform other work related to main duties and/or projects as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and 6 months’ related experience OR Associate of Science (A.S.) in Engineering or relevant technical field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to make technical decisions within established parameters.
  • Microsoft Office expertise.
  • Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.

No travel is required for this position.

Pay

The base pay range for this position is $24.28 per hour to $34.50 per hour. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
