Responsibilities

  • Aids in preparing summary reports documenting data and activities from field surveys/assessments.
  • Conducts field surveys and assessments including water resource sampling, biological sampling, air monitoring, zero waste, and hazardous waste in accordance with grant and tribally funded programs.
  • Provides education and outreach on environmental programs to community members.
  • Records air monitoring data and offers technical support on air monitors.
  • Creates GIS mapping inventories for environmental programs.
  • Assists with zero waste and hazardous waste activities such as reservation clean-ups.
  • Gathers seeds and propagates seeds for Tribal nursery.
  • Develops habitat restoration plans and invasive species mitigation plans.
  • Supports a collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, and collaboration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years of experience in environmental field work and surveys is required.
  • One year of experience in nursery and plant management and propagation is required.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet.

Pay

Minimum Pay Rate: $20.68 per hour
Maximum Pay Rate: $24.33 per hour
